This past month in Castle Vale has been one of the busiest I can remember, but also one of the most rewarding. Every week has reminded me just how special our estate is, and how lucky I am to serve such an incredible community.

At the heart of my work has been the drive to make Castle Vale cleaner and greener. From joining residents at community litter picks to working with partners on environmental projects, I’ve seen the pride people take in their neighbourhood. That same determination is guiding our efforts to tackle rising energy costs, as I explore ways we can help residents reduce bills and make homes more sustainable.

One of the highlights of the month was the Castle Vale Community Festival. It was fantastic to see families, neighbours, and friends coming together to celebrate what makes this estate unique – its energy, diversity, and spirit of togetherness. Events like this show Castle Vale at its very best.

We’ve also taken time to reflect and remember, particularly through the commemoration of VJ Day. Standing alongside residents to honour those who served was humbling, and it reminded me how important it is to inspire the next generation of leaders here in Castle Vale.

It’s been a busy month, but if anything, the pace is only increasing. I know big things are coming for our community, and I’m determined to keep putting Castle Vale first – always.

  1. It is refreshing to have a councilor that genuinely cares about the people, who is also involved and proactive. This is exactly what this community needs. When voting comes around for the local councilor we need to show the same support for councilor Ray Goodwin as he has and dose support castle vale and its residents. Thank you Ray for your dedication.

  2. I think it’s important right that people remember you know Castle Vale is a lovely community and you are doing so well at your job and what you’re doing for residence on Castle Vale one thing I can point out when I first moved I didn’t really know much about Castle Vale until my mum told me But I’ve been on Castle Vale 24 years and I love every minute of it right I think you’re doing a wonderful job. Well done. Ray

  3. Castle Vale has always been a diverse community and always been viewed by BCC as that part of “Birmingham” yet it was their creation and vision it is here.

Over it’s life time it has had many changes and renovations, projects and upgrades only for this momentum to fade away and promises broken.

Yet it is still here, the evolution of the vale community has always been for a better quality of life.

What is important regardless of party politics of the city council and national government is who, we elected is focusing on castle vale.

We all know who have in the past and recent past who have and have not done so, the previous one used us to get a foot hold to further their political career as an MP and did nothing for us during their tenature.

Respect Cllr for keeping balanced focus on Castle Vale, regardless of politics, it has been a refreshing period and about time Castle Vale had one, it was needed.
